Mr. Langworthy (for himself and Ms. Tokuda) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce


A BILL

To amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize lifespan respite care programs, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the “Lifespan Respite Care Reauthorization Act of 2025”.

SEC. 2. Lifespan respite care.

(a) Definition of family caregiver.—Section 2901(5) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300ii(5)) is amended by striking “unpaid adult” and inserting “unpaid individual”.

(b) Funding.—Section 2905 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300ii–4) is amended by striking “fiscal years 2020 through fiscal year 2024” and inserting “fiscal years 2025 through 2029”.
